Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Poses to Try
Alternate candid poses (walking, laughing, whispering, running) with two or three styled ones (a clean embrace, a forehead-to-forehead close-up, a from-behind walking shot). Bring two outfits each — one casual, one semi-formal — and keep moving between frames.
Candid poses (most of the shoot)
- Walking toward the camera, talking to each other
- One whispering, the other laughing
- A spin or a dip, caught mid-motion
- Sitting close, one looking away, the other at them

Styled poses (a few keepers)
- Forehead to forehead, eyes closed
- One standing behind, arms around the other
- From behind, walking hand in hand into the frame
- Ring hand resting on a shoulder or chest
The Editorial Embrace and Grand Staircase styles show these registers.

Two outfits each — one relaxed, one dressed up. Book the shoot 3–6 months before the wedding if the goal is polished save-the-date images; earlier if it's mainly to get comfortable on camera. See engagement shoot vs. pre-wedding shoot.
Practise first
Do a 15-minute self-timer run at home the week before so the poses aren't brand new on the day. Related blog: pre-wedding photoshoot ideas.
How long does a pre-wedding shoot take?
Usually one to two hours, which is enough for two outfit changes and two or three locations without rushing.
