Couple Selfie Ideas That Don't Look the Same as Everyone Else's
The arm's-length, both-smiling selfie is fine, but every couple has fifty of them. A few small changes give you something you'd actually print.
Shoot in a mirror instead
A mirror selfie lets you get your whole bodies and your outfits in frame, and the phone gives your hands something to do. A clean full-length or bathroom mirror both work.
Use the front-facing flash at night
A hard direct flash in a dark bar or street gives that candid, slightly chaotic look that reads as a real night out rather than a posed portrait. Lean in cheek to cheek and don't overthink the smile.

Hold the phone out but turn your faces toward each other mid-laugh. It takes a few tries to time, but it looks far less staged than two people staring into the camera.
Get a candid of the candid
Have one person take a normal selfie while the other kisses their cheek or reacts — the asymmetry is the whole photo, and it never looks generic.
How do we both fit in a selfie without cutting someone off?
Hold the phone slightly higher than eye level and a bit further away, and have the person on the camera side pull their head back a touch — the near face always looks bigger otherwise.
