How to Recreate Your First Date in a Photo
Go back to the exact spot of your first date, wear something close to what you wore then, order the same thing, and take a photo in the same framing. If you have a photo from that first date, copy its pose directly for a clean before/after.
Plan the details
- Location: the same cafe, bar, park bench or cinema
- Outfits: the same, or as close as your wardrobe allows
- Time of day: match it — evening light is very different from midday
- The order: the same drinks or food on the table
Match the framing
If a photo exists from that night, open it on one phone and use it as a reference while a second phone (on a timer or a stranger's kind hand) takes the new one. Same distance, same angle, same crop.

Download on the App StoreNo photo from the first date
Most couples don't have one. Take the "now" photo anyway — it becomes year zero of the tradition. Or generate a stylised version of that first-date setting with AI Couple Photo Maker using the Coastal Café Morning or Candlelit Dinner style.
Etiquette on the day
If you're shooting in a working cafe or bar, be quick and tip well. See first date photo etiquette.
What if the place has closed down?
Photograph the location as it is now with a caption noting what used to be there — the change is part of the story. Or pick the closest equivalent.
